Responsibilities

 

  • Controlling the alignment between system level requirement and space segment requirements;
  • Reviewing the ESA requirements flow-down to lower levels (satellite, subsystem, unit), ensuring compliance with the satellite and the relevant interface and security requirements;
  • Consolidating and maintaining the satellite system performance budgets to monitor compliance with the applicable requirements;
  • Ensuring adequacy of the Requirement Verification Matrix and associated test specification and matrix at satellite level;
  • Monitoring the industrial engineering activities relevant to the satellite system design, development, testing, verification, validation, qualification and acceptance to ensure they meet  the ESA space segment requirements including launcher interfaces;
  • Monitoring the industrial engineering activities relevant to the development and delivery of deliverable items as defined in the Statement of Work;
  • Coordinating the specialised engineering support provided by the Directorates of Technology, Engineering and Quality and of Operations for the satellite design and test activities;
  • Preparing the necessary inputs to the satellite system related NCR, NRB, ARB and RFD/W process in close cooperation with all other relevant disciplines;
  • Preparing in cooperation with the G2B System and AIT Manager the G2SB1-B Satellite Verification Control Board and the Space Segment Control Board;
  • Preparing the necessary inputs to the G2 System Engineering Board in your area of competence;
  • Preparing in cooperation with the Galileo G2B System and AIT Manager the definition and execution of the satellite verification, qualification and acceptance programmes including the implementation/monitoring of AIT/AIV activities;
  • Coordinating the Customer Furnished Items interface requirements to ensure compliance  with the satellite requirements;
  • Preparing in cooperation with the Galileo G2B System and AIT Manager the launcher related reviews;
  • Contributing to Agency project reviews and lower-level reviews;
  • Reporting regularly and on ad hoc basis to the Galileo G2B System and AIT Manager, monitoring relevant schedules proactively, identifying risk and problem areas, and proposing mitigation action;
  • Monitoring applicable scientific and technological trends and maintaining state-of-the-art expertise;
  • Participating, under the coordination of the System Manager, in periodic meetings with the parent division, and contributing to the transfer of lessons learned across the Agency.

Profile

Technical competencies
Experience in Satellite design in particular in the areas of identification of satellite design solutions integrating lower-level validated units into satellite level product including usage of required design tools
Experience in the preparation and maintenance of Satellite budgets and performances analyses, including usage of required tools
Experience in Satellite verification and validation concepts, and associated satellite test
Knowledge of ESA Space system development and PA standards
Experience in Satellite test sequence preparation
Education
A Master’s degree in electrical engineering is required for this post.
 
Additional requirements
You should have at least 10 years’ experience in satellite engineering.
