Sapienza, a tpgroup company is looking to hire an experienced team of IV&V Engineers to work on our Customers Site (Eumetsat). The team will be supporting EPS SG programme at first, later other future programmes.

Responsibilities

Engineering Activities for the I&V

• Verification Control: for the requirements to be verified by test propose/define the testing activities
• Ensure the scope is in line with the expected versions and that the testing activities can be scheduled within the foreseen timeframe
• Observing and analysis of I&V tests run at segment and/or sub segment level
• Writing of integration and verification test specifications
• Identification of test tools and test data needed (and plan any necessary development of test tools and the tuning/modification of test data)
• Based on initial test specifications and other relevant documents (lower level test docs, user manuals, etc), write detailed test procedures
• By successive iterations, refine the test procedures until they are in a status ready to be executed;
• Set up the test tools and refine the test data
• Analysis of problems and management of anomalies
• Contribute to or prepare the I&V plans.
• Support the EUMETSAT team during the project reviews in relation to the I&V documentation (plans, VCD, RTS, …)

Execution of Integration and Verification Activities

• Scheduling and executing of all the integration and verification activities in close coordination with EUMETSAT, including requesting use of common resources (such as MMEs)
• Ensuring sufficiently in advance of execution that relevant procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or set-up as necessary
• Organising and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, the corresponding Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), in which the readiness of all required elements to perform a specific set of ground segment activities will be checked, any constraint dealt with and the final arrangements for the execution of the tests taken
• Performing the integration and verification activities and testing according to the plans, procedures and arrangements taken in the relevant readiness review, undertaking any required analysis of the results/issues and recording the outcome in relevant reports, and anomaly reports where necessary
• Organising and holding in coordination with the EUMETSAT Technical Officer (TO) Test Review Board meetings in which completion of the integration and verification activities will be assessed
• Maintaining the relevant VCD and recording the results of the tests in DOORS;
• Supporting Anomaly Review Board (ARB) meetings (if applicable)
• Liaising with EUMETSAT teams and development contractors for technical issues related to the utilisation of the facilities, the communication of anomalies, the follow-up of their resolution and installation of patches or new releases

Contribution to Validation Activities

• Support to scheduling and executing of all the validation activities and testing in close coordination with EUMETSAT
• Ensuring sufficiently in advance of the execution of the tests that relevant procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or set-up as necessary
• Organising, supporting and holding in coordination with the EUMETSAT Technical Officer (TO) the corresponding Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)
• Performing assigned validation activities according to the plans, procedures and arrangements, documenting and supporting analysis of the test results
• Organising, supporting and holding, under the direction of EUMETSAT, the corresponding Test Review Board (TRB) meetings in which completion of the validation activities will be assessed
• Supporting Anomaly Review Board (ARB) meetings (if applicable)
• Liaising with EUMETSAT teams and development contractors for technical issues related to the utilisation of the facilities, the communication of anomalies, the follow-up of their resolution and installation of patches or new releases

Profile

• • Bachelor’s in engineering
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in ground segment activities within large ground infrastructures/space projects, preferably in the Integration/verification phase
  • Background in software systems
    • Engineering and testing of computer based systems
    • Knowledge of data processing systems based on modern technology (e.g. virtualisation, streaming technology, cloud based systems…)
    • Familiarity with
      • Pre integration and Incremental integration of a system;
      • Verification processes and implementation
      • Validation processes
      • Procurement /use of Test Tools and Test Data, including Spacecraft and System related test tools and data;
    • Familiar with systems built around Specifications and Interface control documents
    • Experience in elaborating, taking part and documenting test campaigns (test plan, test specification, test scenarios, test reports, Verification matrices, Non conformance reporting and resolution)
    • In some cases the knowledge of specific products may be an advantage (e.g. KAFKA, STORM)
    • Knowledge of Quality assurance and configuration management processes related to testing
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills and flexibility;
  • Strengths in analysis and pragmatic judgement are required
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of another ESA member-state language is an asset
