The Satellite Applications Catapult has developed a pocketQube nano-satellite to assist in educational and outreach training, which requires continuous development of both technical capabilities, software and training materials. Specifically, your background should include the following:

  • Experience writing reports and presenting to varied audiences
  • Desk-based research and analysis
  • Lab-based experimentation, research and development
  • Self-motivated and confident in scoping tasks

Desired experience

While not essential to carry out the role effectively, experience in any one (or more) of the following areas would lend itself to a number of ongoing projects within the team:

  • Microcontroller or other low-level embedded development
  • FPGA design
  • Digital image processing algorithms
  • Outreach or education
  • Graphical software development
  • Team leadership and project management
  • Mission analysis and design, including feasibility and trade-off studies
