The Airbus transnational Optical Instruments team develops and manufactures state-of-the-art spaceborne cameras, spectrometers, science payloads and lidars for scientific as well as operational applications.

Within this highly fascinating surrounding, we are looking for a Development Manager (d/f/m) for Optical Instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Elaborate and maintain the Optical Instrument Project development plan
  • Ensure a pro-actively adaptation of the development activities, including re-arrangement of the development logic or activities, to maintain the Instrument on-time delivery in spite of development issues
  • Maintain the coherency between the suppliers contracts and the Instrument development plan and schedule
  • Maintain the Instrument Project schedule
  • Maintain the TRL (Technology Readiness Level) overview of the Instrument design, and ensures the coherency of the technology development plan (including at suppliers)

Profile

  • You are educated to a Master’s degree in Physics, Mechanical, Electrical or Optical Engineering, or equivalent
  • You have already developed or managed Space projects or large and complex industrial projects
  • You have gained experienced in subcontractors management in technology and development programs
  • You have already shown your experience in Project Management
  • You have shown your intercultural competence as well as the ability to work in cross-functional teams
  • You do have a team-oriented way of working and good communication skills
  • You have a high degree of initiative, commitment and self-motivation
  • You have a customer-oriented and solution-oriented way of working
  • You have already shown your conflict management skills
  • Upon that, you stand out due to your analytical and interdisciplinary mindset
  • You know about product assurance principles and are aware of appropriate standards for space, ESA, ECSS, DSCC, MIL, etc.
  • You are familiar with Quality Systems ISO 9001
  • You are fluent in English and German
