We are seeking an Expert Ground Engineer to join our service team at CNES and work on their exciting missions in Toulouse.

Founded in 1961, the Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) is the government agency responsible for shaping and implementing France’s space policy in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Develop scripts, software, and tools to automate day-to-day operations
  • Work with the launch operations team, flight software team, and other design teams to develop operational plans
  • Respond to issues and anomalies
  • Work to improve the efficiency of satellite operations through automation and metrics-based decisions
  • Communicate frequently and effectively, highlighting success and learning from failures
  • Support rigorous and challenging schedules during spacecraft ground-based testing, launch windows, and on-orbit operations

Profile

  • MSc in Space Engineering, Software Development or similar
  • 3+ years’ experience in the Space industry
  • Experience working in ground segment, control or command centre, mission centre or similar
  • Business skills in the architecture and operation of ground segments
  • Business skills in the field of mission programming, command/control chain, TT&C
  • Business skills in the field of data production/reprocessing
  • Experience with requirements management software (such as DOORS)
  • Experience with SCOS-2000 or similar mission control systems
  • Experience scripting in Linux environment
  • Knowledge of Python, Java or similar
  • Fluent in French and English
  • Eligible to work in the EU
