We are seeking a Planning and Scheduling Officer to work on our Customers Site (ESA-ESTEC) in the Netherlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to get into one of the most sought after space agencies in the world.

The position is full time with fixed term contract duration until 31.12.2026.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the establishment of, baseline schedules with the Project(s) andt he various mission elements (ground segment, spacecraft, payload).
  • Support the Project Manager and Project Controller during schedule meetings with industry.
  • Produce schedule reports including synthetic working schedule, identify critical items and problem areas
  • Produce trend charts and critical path analysis charts
  • Participate in cost at completion exercises.
  • Consolidate inputs for the programme level overall schedule, production of reports and trend charts to enable programme level analysis.
  • Provide ad hoc schedule analysis when serious deviations occur and as requested by project teams.
  • Train ESA teams on schedule tools where needed.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent University degree from a recognised institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, with relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise with the use of modern schedule software tools (at least both MS Project, Primavera).
  • Expertise with the techniques that allow the use of such software tools to provide active schedule management and best scheduling practices.
  • Experience with the schedule peculiarities of spacecraft development is an asset.
  • Proactivity, good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact effectively with the technical personnel in our projects and colleagues of different backgrounds (engineering, management, legal).
  • Capability to summarise and present complex information to colleagues and senior management in a concise and clear manner.
  • Capability to work autonomously and at the same time be able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Problem solving mind set and high capacity to deliver are highly considered.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
