We are currently seeking a talented Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team and work directly with our valued customer, EUMETSAT. This wonderful opportunity will have you located at the captivating site in Darmstadt, where you can enjoy a great balance of on-site work and flexible working hours.

As part of our service team, your mission is to support the QA/PA processes on the Satellite Ground Segment for the Meteosat Third Generation mission.

Responsibilities

  • Implement EUMETSAT’s QA policies in the assigned area in accordance with the MTG System QA plan and all relevant applicable standards
  • Ensure that the applicable MTG processes are implemented in accordance with the relevant QA working practices and procedures
  • Contribute to the maintenance of GEO QA working practices and procedures
  • Contribute to the establishment of metrics to measure the effectiveness of the main processes
  • Provide QA service to the MTG System and Ground Segment Team including MTG OPIT team, to ensure that QA policies and methods are considered
  • Coordinate and conduct the support to test campaigns, including TRR, test witnessing and TRB in the assigned areas of Perform incoming inspection of the MTG deliverables in the assigned areas
  • Perform Mandatory and Key Inspection Points, MIPs/KIPs, of the assigned products
  • Coordinate and support Delivery Review Board meetings
  • Provide dedicated QA service to the production of the technical and programmatic documents relevant to the MTG Programme, MTG System and Ground Segment and their facilities and elements
  • Critically review technical and management documentation issued in support to the MTG GS Facilities procurement
  • Act as Review Secretary to the Programme Reviews and Check Points planned for MTG in adherence with the applicable requirements and procedures, ensuring that the relevant Organisation Note arrangements are correctly implemented, and that the support tool to be used for managing the Review Item Discrepancy (RID) during the Reviews is properly configured and available
  • Contribute to the MTG GS Facilities procurement activities and the corrected processes
  • Provide service to QA activities during the Facilities development and production process, interfacing with the EUMETSAT Technical Officers, relevant cross-divisional EUMETSAT Teams and the Industry QA/PA counterparts
  • Contribute to the monitoring of the implementation of the agreed QA Plans and procedures within the industry and other organizations’ activities
  • Coordinate the anomaly and non-conformance review process in assigned areas
  • Contribute to the preparation and conduct of QA audits on Industry and within EUMETSAT in the areas connected with MTG GS activities, in line with the Service Contracts and Suppliers QA Audit plan
  • Contribute to the regular reporting to the MTG System and Ground Segment QA Engineer, GEO QA Manager, and relevant MTG managers on QA aspects related to allocated areas of activity
  • Provide inputs related to the service and attend to the weekly GEO QA Team coordination meetings and programme meetings as required
  • Ad-hoc tasks within the scope of this contract, that are to be discussed and mutually agreed between the TO and SLM.

Profile

  • University degree or equivalent in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or relevant discipline
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Quality and Product Assurance (QA/PA) in Space or Aerospace industry
  • Specific experience with QA/PA processes on Satellite Ground Segments is an asset
  • Hands-on experience in QA/PA processes definition, implementation, monitoring and control, and QA/PA performance metrics
  • Knowledge and application of aerospace or space QA/PA standards
  • Knowledge and experience with ISO 9001 and ECSS standards
  • Strong experience in implementing QA policies and methods in procurement contracts for complex products such as Ground Segment Systems
  • Experience in providing QA support to SW products throughout their complete development lifecycle
  • Experience in following HW/SW products integration and verification
  • Strong experience in driving Anomaly and Non-conformity processes, including applicable ARB/NRB boards with all necessary stakeholders
  • Extended experience in conducting incoming inspection, mandatory inspection points and key inspection points of deliverables (HW and SW) composing the MTG programme
  • Experience in supporting delivery review including relevant DRB boards and preparation of relevant release notes
  • Strong experience in conducting TRR, test witnessing and TRB involving complex systems and numerous stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Capability of producing and releasing in autonomy Minutes of Meetings and QA reports
  • Experience in application of risk management and lessons learned processes
  • Fluent in English
  • Team-working mindset

Nice to have:

  • Experience in usage of collaborative tools such as Jira, Confluence
  • Advanced knowledge using Microsoft Excel
  • Medium knowledge in using MATLAB
  • Experience of working in programmes involving different partners and /or stakeholders
