Dedicated to the European Space Agency’s Earth-observing activities, ESA-ESRIN is the European centre of excellence for exploitation of Earth observation missions. The mission and payload operations of ESA’s Earth observation satellites are managed here, and ESRIN is the primary source for the acquisition, distribution, and exploitation of data from these and other non-ESA satellites.

Responsibilities

• Transfer To Operations support on, e.g.:
  • introduction of new mission and new mission requirements.
  • software configuration changes.
  • operational system evolution.
  • new system integration in the operational project.
• Anomaly and problem management.
• Technical and Project documentation review and editing.
• Software configuration control and installation kit packaging.
• Software installation kit creation and packaging.
• Administration and operation of Kubernetes environment.
• Support during regular meetings and audit.
• Generation of service and progress reports.

Profile

Technical skills:

• Intermediate/advanced skills in development PHP, Javascript,Java,python,HTML.
• Intermediate/advanced Docker environment knowledge.
• Writing skills for issuing technical documentation as notes, minutes, requirements, work specifications, architectural design.
• Intermediate to advanced Linux (Operating System) user.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes virtual environment.
• Knowledge of VMWare virtual environment.
• Good understanding of ITIL practices and processes.
• Knowledge of Anomaly management, System design and Software Validation activities best practice.
• Knowledge of Software configuration control best practice.
• Working experience on complex systems, in ground segments context,
• Experience matured on data center and complex IT environments is an asset.
• Experience in setting up Virtual environments both on Physical and Cloud Platforms is an asset.

Personal Skill:

• Fluent in English Language (both written and spoken).
• Good communications skills.
• Capacity of working in team.
• Capacity of achieving schedule and milestones.
• Capacity of working under pressure.

Other Skills:

• Knowledge of Anomaly management, System design and Software Validation activities best practice.
