For our client, European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), we are looking for multiple GNSS System Engineers to join our team in Noordwijk, NL.

Galileo is an autonomous European satellite radio navigation system which is interoperable with other existing GNSS systems, in particular the Global Positioning System (GPS). Galileo provides several services through a combination of capabilities of the core system components (GCS/GMS/SSEG) and interfacing entities: Support Facilities, Service Facilities, and External Entities.

Located in Noordwijk, the Netherlands, the GRC performs independent service performance monitoring and reporting, service performance investigation and support, and campaign based GNSS monitoring and experimentation, through cooperation with EU Member States, Norway and Switzerland (MS).

Responsibilities

  • Support the technical follow up of the activities regarding the implementation of the monitoring capabilities for the different services delivered, the definition of the associated reporting and the validation of the monitoring capabilities.
  • Review the performance reports made available to the EUSPA and analyse potential inconsistencies or discrepancies and propose ways forward.
  • Support the preparation of consolidated performance reports, compiling the inputs from the various sources, and other performance related documents such as the Service description document.
  • Support the definition and follow-up of specific campaign-based service performance analyses, including service validation campaigns.
  • Support the definition and implementation of in-house performance assessment capabilities.
  • Provide an independent means of evaluating the performance of the Galileo Service Operator (GSOp) and the quality of the signals in space.
  • It is technically independent of the system infrastructure (as far as possible) and fully independent of the operations of the rest of the system performed by GSOp.
  • Perform independent monitoring and assessment of Galileo service provision.
  • Perform independent monitoring and assessment of Galileo data dissemination.
  • Integrate raw data and processed data from EU Member States, Norway and Switzerland with GRC products (both raw and processed data) and utilise the relevant expertise of the data providers.
  • Report service performance to the stakeholders.
  • Provide service performance expertise to the Galileo component, including (but not limited to) supporting the European GNSS Service Centre (E-GSC) performance-related user requests.
  • Support investigations of service performance and service degradations.
  • Archive all relevant service performance data.
  • Assess compatibility and interoperability between Galileo and other GNSS (GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou) and regional systems (EGNOS, QZSS, IRNSS).

Profile

  • Experience in GNSS and SBAS systems.
  • Experience in Multi-GNSS reference data output generation and Performance Monitoring.
  • Experience in Data management for RIMS stations, EDAS data, and SBAS networks.
  • Experience in Data retrieval for EWS, SAR, CIP and GNSS Prediction and monitoring
  • Comfortable with working in a diverse and multinational team environment.
  • Proficient in the English language, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of another EU member state language is an asset.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
