On behalf of our customer EUMETSAT, we are currently seeking an experienced System Integration and Verification Engineer to join our team.  You would be a part of a service team working on-site at EUMETSAT’s site in Darmstadt, with a generous distribution of working hours into the hybrid model. Your mission is to support the data processing systems and Multi Mission Elements. You would be dedicated to the integration and verification service of new evolutions (i.e. releases) of data processing software as well as the Multi-Mission Elements which provide services within EUMETSAT’s MMEs.

The service comprises of the integration of components, their verification, and end-to-end service verification across the boundaries of individual software (S/W) applications or systems.

Responsibilities

  • Contribution to/preparation for I&V plans, while supporting the EUMETSAT team during project reviews in relations to the I&V documentation.
  • Writing of I&V test specifications, observation and analysis of I&V test run at segment and/or sub-segment level.
  • Verification control of testing activities for the requirements, ensuring that the scope is in line with the expected versions, and the testing activities can be scheduled within the required timeframes.
  • Identifying and setting up the test tools and test data necessary for procedures.
  • Writing detailed test procedures for manual and automated tests based on initial test specifications and other documents, and refinement of test procedures until execution stages.
  • Automatization and maintenance of the test procedures for integration in automatic test-suites.
  • Analysis of problems and anomaly management.
  • Execution of Integration and Verification activities in close coordination with EUMETSAT, ensuring sufficiently in advance that all relevant procedures are ready to be used, performing final tuning or set-ups per requirement.
  • Maintain the relevant VCD and recording the results of the tests in DOORS.
  • Per need, support the Anomaly Review Board (ARB) meetings.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in system integration and verification.
  • Proven ability in I&V of complex systems or relevant certifications (ISQTB).
  • Requirements and verification management using DOORS.
  • Formal testing at component and system level, and software services.
  • Creating suitable test cases, documentation and their execution.
  • Benchmarking and stress testing, automated testing.
  • Structured software development and verification, software maintenance and performance monitoring.
  • Experience working with ECSS standards.
  • Experience in operational environments under strict change control and configuration control.
  • Experience with near real-time, Earth Observation data processing, archiving, distribution, or data access applications.
  • Experience in scripting in a UNIX/Linux environment using C/C++, Java, Javascript, XML, Perl or Tcl/Tk.
  • Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL.
  • Networking: Internet protocols, TCP/IP programming, network monitoring.
  • Experience in using version control systems such as Git or similar.
  • Experience in using virtualization and containers (i.e. Docker) tools for testing database migration.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with satellite monitoring and control systems (SCOS-2000).
  • Mission control functions.
  • Satellite communications applications (packet TM/TC, PUS, SLE protocol).
  • Ground Station monitoring and control applications.
  • Ground System monitoring application.
  • Experience with Selenium, WebDriver, Robot Framework, Spock, QFS-Test, Jenkins and/or Valgrind.
  • Experience testing of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience with tools for testing database migration.
  • Knowledge of techniques of testing applications deployed in Kubernetes clusters (e.g. how to access logs of Kubernetes pods).
