Reaction Engines are looking for a positive, proactive and solution focused Head of IT to join the team.

To manage the IT service to Reaction Engines, continuously seeking ways to improve and create efficiencies through the IT provision, ensuring cyber security and enabling the success of the organisations aims and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, guide, manage and inspire a multi-disciplinary team
  • Departmental management and day-to-day administration of the internal network and IT systems, both at the Culham site and local subsidiary sites.
  • Providing on-site and off-site support to all departments, including the running of an internal Service Desk facility
  • Full accountability for IT security across the business
  • Define long term IT strategy
  • Develop great people
  • Maintain a supportive and engaging team culture
  • Insist on high standards of technical design and implementation and ensure systems are operationally excellent
  • Deliver project work while managing the expectations of your stakeholders
  • Manage procurement and best value with suppliers.
  • Manage contracts with 3rd party vendors, suppliers and contractors
  • Maintaining and developing supplier relationships and the development of long-term Service Level Agreements
  • Planning, design and implementation of IT system upgrades in line with company growth.
  • Management of day-to-day on-site IT security requirements, including liaising with external suppliers and contractors.
  • Supporting and contributing to on-boarding of new employees across the business
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Working with senior decision-makers
  • Ability to influence at all levels
  • Full accountability for systems ‘up time’
  • Establish develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies to ensure an integrated contribution to Reaction Engines’ corporate objectives
  • Observe and comply with policies and procedures for Health and Safety at Work and observe and continually promote equal opportunities and customer care in compliance with organisational aims and objectives.
  • Participate in learning and development activities that develop personal effectiveness and assist in improving performance in the role.
  • Ensuring appropriate audit and compliance activities are in place (e.g. ISO)
  • Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with the level of responsibility of the post and in order to meet the changing needs of the organisation

Profile

Experience Requirements

Essential

  • Line management responsibility for IT professionals
  • Capacity to manage and deliver a variety of projects and solutions to teams and individuals through the company
  • Management of an internal ServiceDesk facility
  • At least 5 years’ experience managing IT infrastructure ideally in a similar role
  • Managing 3rd party outsourced services
  • Dealing and negotiating with suppliers
  • Conflicting requirements
  • Experience in the delivery of a range of IT Infrastructure Projects
  • Experience delivering Offices Moves, Migrations, Implementations, and Change
  • Excellent Communication (working with internal stakeholders/customers)
  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Windows operating systems 7/8.1/10
  • Microsoft Exchange 2016
  • Experience / Knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 27001

  • Experience / Knowledge of conducting / supporting Internal & External Audits
  • Experience / Knowledge of conducting / supporting Pen Tests
  • Experience working in secure network environments

Qualification Requirements

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent work experience.
  • ITIL v3/4 Foundation
  • MCSE or equivalent
  • Full driving licence

 

Desirable

  • Cisco CCNA
  • Project management certification
