We are seeking for a forward thinking, dynamic and driven Procurement Manager to lead on and deliver our Procurement Strategy and bring a commercial approach and appetite to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering relevant work programmes relating to the efficient and effective management of procurement activities
  • Preparation and delivery of activities associated with an annual procurement plan which aligns to the Catapult’s overall annual business plan and objectives
  • Provision of suitable advice to internal stakeholders on procurement matters, championing the benefits of an efficient, effective, value-adding and compliant approach
  • Development and management of appropriate procurement policies and procedures that ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Developing strategic relationships with relevant supply-chain organisations
  • Negotiation with new and existing suppliers to improve the service and cost-effectiveness to the Catapult
  • Responsibility for all relevant procurement and supply chain related reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Identification and leadership of procurement-related continuous improvement initiatives

Profile

As a successful candidate you are passionate about Procurement and the value you can bring to an organisation. You are an excellent communicator and will ideally have worked in a similar role in similar organisation (SME / Start-up / Not for Profit) as well as:

  • Educated to ‘A’ level or equivalent, and CIPS Diploma in Procurement & Supply (L5)
  • Strong public and private sector procurement experience and knowledge of relevant UK / EU procurement regulations and frameworks
  • Leading end-to-end national based and OJEU tenders across a number of categories
  • Leadership of contract negotiations, managing new and existing suppliers, SLA delivery, driving procurement processes and managing supplier governance and risk
  • Experienced in drafting tender specifications and evaluation criteria knowledge of contract clauses and the application of such knowledge of strategic and legal procurement methodology
  • Effective contract dispute management
  • Demonstrable project management skills and experience
  • Experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines
  • Good analytical skills and ability to make evidence-based decisions
