Field engineer is a strategic function inside ArianeGroup dedicated to improve the company including its supply chain performance and maturity, by providing specific expertise in quality and supply chain domain. Field engineer is accountable to deliver missions at targeted site as required by procurement, operations, program or quality organizations.When a field mission is deemed necessary, you will provide expert support at supplier or operation site and will propose an appropriate recovery, improvement or development plan in order to secure On-quality, On-Time, On-Cost performance and develop quality mind-set and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • You identify weaknesses, capabilities, axis of improvements and development in order to improve the maturity and robustness of the supply chain
  • You prepare mission statements, establishing and agreeing with stakeholder’s pertinent objectives, targets and CID (Corrective, improvement and development) action plan
  • You drive the implementation of operation and supply chain continuous improvement methodologies (LEAN, 6 Sigma, problem solving, coaching, etc.) and tools (KPI, process controls, test means, etc.) at the supplier or operation site
  • You manage the mission at supplier or operation site and reporting regularly on action plan and development plan achievements
  • You support the operation and supply chain teams for the problem solving and recovery plans on complex issues
  • You contribute to improving the performance and maturity of suppliers and operations by implementing corrective measures
  • You contribute to company strategy and Quality objectives by implementing preventive measure such as supplier development and/or deploying new methods and tool

Profile

  • You have an engineer degree with strong experience in production activities
  • You have experience in Manufacturing/ Manufacturing engineering/ Quality/ Lean would be an advantage
  • You have experience in driving improvement in the product life cycle
  • You have good knowledge of LEAN/ 6 Sigma principles, expertise in problem solving
  • You have good Knowledge of APQP and audit/ assessment is a plus
  • You have good Knowledge of problem solving method 8d
  • You have good interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of hierarchy
  • You speak English (very good), German (good), (good Knowledge in French is a plus
  • You are ready to travel to supplier premises on short notices mostly based in Europe and during the week (Ratio of travel/home base 50/50%)
