AKKA UK are seeking Aerospace experienced Software Engineers to be a part of the project team for embedded software development using C++/C. Providing technical governance and Leadership to the project team. Building customer relationships and growing the project.

With successful support and delivery of ongoing projects and customers throughout the UK, further business development is creating the demand for a range of software engineering skillsets. Responsibilities

  • Performing software development activities for the development of an embedded system in line with DO-178 and DAL B
  • Working within Real Time Environments
  • Writing Test procedures and Test Scripts and performing Unit testing
  • Implementing requirements changes
  • Investigating and implementing problem reports and change requests
  • Reviewing and re-working the design artefacts
  • Customer facing

Profile

We have a variety of levels ranging from Entry level and above, role seniority will be based on knowledge or experience of the below;

  • Aerospace or Avionics background
  • Development of SW plans, requirements development and software verification.
  • Application of standards, particularly DO-178.
  • Implementation in languages including C/C++, ADA, Java, Python and operating systems including Windows and Linux/Unix.
  • Use of tools including Visual Studio, Jenkins and Jira.
  • Integration into lifecycles using a range of lifecycle methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Experience with customer support dealing with people face to face
  • Good time management skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Willingness to work within a consultancy environment that may require some UK based travel
