AKKA UK are seeking experienced Software Engineers to be the foundations of our project teams for embedded software development. Providing technical governance and Leadership to the project team. Building customer relationships and growing the project at the early stages of our customer relationship.

This role will initially focus your hands-on Software skills but quickly develop into much more than that! Long term you will be leading teams, involved with developing business and heading up capability areas.

Responsibilities

  • Performing software development activities for the development of an embedded system in line with DO-178 and DAL B
  • Working within Real Time Environments
  • Writing Test procedures and Test Scripts and performing Unit testing
  • Leading teams of Junior to experience engineers to deliver and meet targets on time.
  • Be the SME in your area and assist with business development within existing customers with a consultative view

Profile

  • Development of SW plans, requirements development and software verification.
  • Application of standards, particularly DO-178.
  • Implementation in languages specifically C/C++. Any experience of the latter is a benefit: ADA, Java, Python
  • Working within both Windows and Linux/Unix environments
  • Use of tools including Visual Studio, Jenkins and Jira.
  • Integration into lifecycles using a range of lifecycle methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile.
  • Evidence of leadership
  • Experience with customer support dealing with people face to face
  • Good time management skills and ability to work well under pressure
  • Willingness to work within a consultancy environment that may require some UK based travel
