About this job

The role of the Fuel Technical Manager is to provide governance to the technical outputs of AKKA’s Fuel projects and to maintain a high level of technical integrity and consistency across the project.

Responsibilities

  • Support the technical governance of all aspects of activities within the Fuel system domain across multiple projects.
  • Ensure high levels of quality are maintained across the domain.
  • Support complex technical tasks that require a level of expertise in the discipline.
  • Manage high-level checkers supporting the Fuel projects to ensure a consistent approach to quality checks, and an even workload across the high-level checkers.
  • Support internal investigations of any Quality (OQD) failures, and plan resolution actions.
  • Escalate capability issues or gaps to the Chief Engineer.
  • Provide feedback on performance to line managers.
  • Be a focal point for the Fuel EPLs and support as needed.
  • Support the full life cycle of large or technically complex work packages (scoping through to delivery and closure).
  • Support PMs in customer meetings where technical knowledge is required.
  • Support PMs for PSRs as required.
  • Support resourcing within the project to ensure the correct skills are used on the right tasks.
  • Be the main point of contact for the customer for any technical issues/opportunities.
  • Contribute to the technical aspects of on boarding consultants to the project.
  • Ensure knowledge capture of project focused knowledge to ensure smooth performance as resources change.
  • Drive the introduction of new process to Fuel project teams.
  • Lead the technical aspect of business development within the Fuel project in coordination with AKKA’s Airbus Account Manager.
  • Use technical knowledge to identify potential area of business development within the Fuel domain.

Profile

  • Essential:
    • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering / Systems Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Mathematics or similar scientific based qualification with proven experience in the Aerospace Sector
    • Detailed knowledge of Systems Engineering Development Life Cycle, Certification Phases and Regulations; Do160, Do178, Do254, ARP4754-A, ARP4761, CS-25/FAR-25 and other Part 25 regulations
    • Ability to own technical responsibility for a particular task or work package
    • Exemplary behaviour, guarantor of managerial practices respectful of collaborators
    • Logical approach to problem solving and the ability to map out simple and effective processes
    • Leadership skills
    • Commercial awareness at project level
    • Good English communication skills
  • Advantageous:
    • Knowledge of the business offers of the AKKA Group and its strategy.
    • Knowledge of AKKA Technologies internal procedures.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of technical leadership.
    • Financial projection and budget management of business plans.
    • Creating workload plans.
    • Existing relationships with current/future customers.
