Momentus seeks a high performing, experienced, proven Spacecraft Systems Engineer who can work hard with high productivity in a close knit diverse team to lead the systems engineering of flight systems.

Responsibilities

  • Manage stakeholders (team, customers, board, subcontractors)
  • Manage programmatics (risk, cost, schedule)
  • Manage requirements (project level and flow down)
  • Technically responsible for success of project
  • Lead multidisciplinary studies and trades
  • Drive development of our services according to company roadmap
  • Manage project team, within Space Vehicles group

Profile

Desired Skills:

  • Breadth of technical knowledge encompassing spacecraft systems, subsystems, mission design, and operations
  • Skill in spacecraft system and subsystem specification
  • Team leadership
  • Exceptional communication skills including written, verbal, and presentation
  • Project budgeting, scheduling, control and risk management

Desired Experience

  • >5 years experience in spacecraft systems engineering
  • Direct experience from conception to flight operations
  • Outside of LEO an asset
  • >100 kg spacecraft an asset
  • Work on multiple missions

Nice to Have:

  • Embedded Linux and writing drivers for new hardware
  • Understanding of space and radiation effects on electronics and mitigation
  • Testing and qualifying COTS components for space applications
  • Working with and negotiating with electronics vendors

Education

  • Master’s degree and 5 years experience or Bachelor’s and 7 years’ experience

Proven ability to produce in high tempo work environments is critical to this role. Strong references and a history of positive working relationships will be key for successful applicant.  A friendly disposition and a proven strong work ethic are also key.
