As an employee in the Space business area, you will work with fascinating products used in exciting and barrier-breaking missions in an extreme environment. The position as component engineer is a key position for the Space business area. The component engineer shall in close cooperation with the projects, supply chain and production secure that we get the right components specified and delivered in due time for the assembly of our products.

Terma Space Electronics is a pioneer in the Danish space industry and has been developing advanced space hardware solutions for more than 50 years. We provide mission critical hardware products for both scientific and commercial satellites. We are located in Lystrup Denmark, where more than 50 employees work with development, production and test of space electronics.

Responsibilities

As component engineer you will be involved in the selection of the component types used across the projects together with our engineers and in dialog with the suppliers. You will have the responsibility to make the overall forecasts for the components required and to assist our strategic purchasers in the procurement process. You will also provide input for our quality management with respect to the component specifications and screening and you will participate in the negotiation of the formal approval of them with our customers. You will take part in our production planning activities where the timely component availability is a key issue.

Profile

It is essential for the position that you have an interest in electronics at component level and a broad knowledge of electronic component parts and technologies. Familiarity with manufacturing processes used by the electronics industry products and awareness of industry, military and space standards which may be applicable to these components is preferred.

You could hold an Engineering degree in Electronics Engineering, with minimum 3 years of experience in either electronics manufacturing, testing or design or have a commercial background as purchaser or FAE with minimum 3 years of experience in EEE parts procurement.You are well articulated in writing and speaking, as a minimum in English and preferably also in Danish.

 

Competencies

As an individual, you must have a very systematic approach and be focused on finding the optimal solutions: technically, financially and with respect to quality requirements.Also, you must be self-motivated and persistent enough to work on very long-term projects with extreme requirements. An important criterion is that you are thorough and critical as we work in a field where errors must be revealed before the product is launched into space.
