About this job

The department for safety critical systems and systems engineering researches for new approaches and concepts for safety critical aircraft systems. Therefor we use modern design tools from different engineering disciplines. To describe the system and to perform early design studies we further utilize the model based systems engineering language SysML and the related modelling tools.

Responsibilities

For the development of new functionalities and interfaces for our design tool we have currently an open position as software engineer. In this position you will elaborate requirements and conceptualize solutions to extend the functionality of our design tools and to implement interfaces for seamless data exchange. You will realize promising solutions and verify the design by intensive testing. Further you will act as a consultant for our researchers in areas of software engineering and quality assurance.

You will become a member of a highly motivated and dynamic team. We will provide you the necessary space to deploy you creativity and we will actively support you to further develop your skills and career. A part time agreement to participate in a Master degree granting program in parallel to the job is also possible.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (or similar) in information technology or informatics
  • experience with a least one of the programming languages: Python, Java, C/C++
  • experience with UML or SysML
  • knowledge in XML and XMI
  • fluency in German and English
  • proven experience with Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect or IBM Rhapsody is a plus
  • proven experience in the area of software design with Python, Java or C/C++ is an advantage
