Your Mission:

Within the Institute for Space System’s department System Analysis Space Segment, the EDEN team analyzes and develops concepts and systems for bio-regenerative life support systems for future human space exploration and in particular technologies for plant cultivation in space.

To assist in the various projects and activities, the EDEN team is looking to hire a highly motivated student assistant to be a part of the team.

Responsibilities

Some of the tasks the student assistant will be responsible for include:

  • reviews of available components, materials and systems and their suppliers
  • ordering of parts and supplies
  • assisting in the EDEN plant laboratory (e.g. monitoring experiments, plant handling activities)
  • assisting in the EDEN workshop (e.g. 3D printing, mechanical and electrical assembly)

The student assistant will be working closely together with other students, as well as the EDEN team.

Profile

Your qualifications:

  • engineering student (mechanical, aerospace, electrical, etc.)
  • strong affinity with human space flight and/or horticultural science
  • good skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)
  • excellent English proficiency
  • knowledge of CAD software (especially CATIA) is a plus
