Responsibilities

The role is a key leadership role for an Engineering Manager to take responsibility for various engineering and programmatic activities across a 5G private network roll out.

We are looking for a confident and proactive engineering manager with proven track record in delivering complex multi stakeholder engineering projects. The post requires relevant and up to date knowledge of 4G and 5G infrastructure deployment coupled with engineering leadership skills.

Engineering Managers (EM) will manage a diverse set of suppliers from different disciplines, formulate and execute planned engineering activities, coordinate with other managers across the project. The EM will have numerous responsibilities including researching and developing projects, new designs and product deployment, proposing and securing budgets for projects activities, and overseeing all engineering activities related to each project.

Key Deliverables:

  • Define and issue acceptance plan for Radio access network (RAN).
  • Manage the Radio Access Network deployment.
  • Define and deliver acceptance plan for Core Network Upgrades.
  • Define test plan and validation for RAN.
  • Define and write Test and validation plan for Core Network.
  • Run Core network verification and provide written validation reports.
  • Run Radio access network verification and provide a written report.
  • Provide financial report into UC Director / UC Programme Manager(monthly).
  • Run lessons learned after each phase of the project.
  • Provide a written record of issues and track action across all activities.

Activities:

  • Attend project meeting and stakeholder meetings.
  • Attend Technical review meetings with key suppliers and project managers.
  • Oversee activities with key suppliers involved in infrastructure deployment.
  • Provided detailed reports and status report to Programme managers and directors.

Profile

Experience:

As a successful candidate you have exceptional foresight, great communication skills, a working knowledge of different engineering disciplines and how they relate to one another, and an aptitude for managing risk.

Ideally, you have proven track record of supervisory roles as well as evidence of technical skills. Your experience to date has given you an appreciation for the complex nature of the industry.

Skills:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification and experience.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to effectively communicate on all levels of technical expertise.

Quick facts: This is a Fixed Term Employment opportunity for 12 months. We will consider part time/flexible working arrangement where applicable.
