An as Electro-Mechanical Validation and Verification Engineer you will be responsible for developing hardware and mechatronic test systems to support the validation and verification of cutting-edge new technologies. This will include product design participation for Design for Excellence (DFX), supporting design prototype efforts, participation in the development of the production processes, designing test solutions, deploying them and supporting them in the production process.Your engineering expertise will drive efforts to improve quality, customer satisfaction, on-time delivery, and advance operational excellence. In this space, attention to detail is of the utmost importance. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team and customers to drive key aspects of product definition, execution and test. You must be responsive, motivated, flexible and results driven within an open collaborative peer environment.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work within a project team and take responsibility for all V&V related activities for our products.• Develop and sustain test hardware to support the verification of product functionality.• Document failures in problem reports, work with QE’s and SMEs to resolve the issue.• Work on root cause remediation with regards to hardware issues found during acceptance test.• Architect Verification test methodologies and develop test framework and content• Develop and maintain core product test requirements for design• Setup and run test procedures on highly sensitive hardware intended for space flight.• Establish validation plans, manage the execution and create the compliant validation records for test designs and test deployments.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.

TRAVEL: 1% travel expected for this position.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE: ITAR Requirements: This position requires special security screenings to conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, which may include the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. The U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Profile

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline or 10+ years relevant experience
  • Excellent written communication skills; must appreciate importance of documentation.
  • Some experience high-level scripting.
  • Proven and demonstrated problem solving skills are required.
  • Demonstrated experience with the validation, documentation, and manufacture of electro-mechanical/mechatronics devices.
  • Familiar with mechanism design and testing. (Preferred)
  • Self-motivated and results driven.
