This Software DevOps Engineer role is an opportunity to write mission critical device, sensor and control management software for a variety of aerospace targeted products. Tethers Unlimited has launched several products and continues to expand its in-space portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Experience with configuration management for product releases for multiple customers
• Knowledge of database design and configuration such as Postgres or MySQL
• Ability to write high-quality tested code in multiple frameworks (such as Django, PHP)
• Proficient in multiple system languages such as JavaScript and Python.
• Able to effectively deal with rapidly changing priorities and requirements
• Need to be self-motivated, proactive an effective communicator, maintaining open communication with other team members as well as development staff
• Capable of translating development requirements into systems and infrastructure
• Bring online new tools for improving internal and release processes as a fast learner, constant researcher and team player with a passion for relentless automation and ruthless testing
• Able to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:  This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week.

TRAVEL: Travel is not expected for this position.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:  ITAR Requirements: This position requires special security screenings to conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, which may include the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.  The U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Profile

Required:

• Bachelor of Computer Science, IT, or equivalent degree
• Minimum 3 years of experience managing the technical operations for web applications
• Experience working in an Agile Software Development Environment
• Experience in continuous integration and delivery

Desired:

• Electrical Engineering minor or equivalent
• Firm understanding of network concepts, and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot connectivity issues
• Familiar with tools such as Git, BitBucket, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence
• JavaScript UI frameworks such as graphing toolkits
