ECAPS AB, a Bradford Space subsidiary, is a leading manufacturer of spacecraft rocket motors that use environmentally benign propellant LMP-103S, which is a green and safer alternative to conventional toxic rocket propellants. Currently we export rocket engines worldwide including government agencies such as NASA and ESA. ECAPS High Performance Green Propulsion (HPGP ®) is a world class product which is produced entirely in Stockholm, Sweden.

To extend our team, we currently have position vacant for Production Employee – For manufacturing of rocket engines for satellites.

We are in the process of increasing production of our HPGP technology and are starting series production of thrusters (1N) and propulsion systems, for use of satellites. We are simultaneously developing rocket engines for higher thrust levels (5N, 22N and 200N).

Responsibilities

The role may include everything from work preparation of parts, precision cleaning, precision assembly work,adjustment of thruster components, vacuum brazing, validation, visual inspection and nondestructive testing(x-ray). The assembly work is mostly conducted in clean room environments. In addition to practical work with thruster production you will handle article inspection, handling of components and consumable materials in production, and quality control.

Profile

You need to have the ability to work independently, but in an integrated team with continuous dialogue with other members of the production team. You are driven and methodical, and have the ability to follow designs and processes carefully and report any discrepancies. The tasks place high demands on quality awareness, repeatability and documentation. It is important for you to customize your own work so that it complies with the industry standards.

Manufacturing rocket motors is a job which requires hands-on skill, as well as operating processes such as vacuum brazing and heat treatment. Being familiar with a machine shop would be a bonus. Following drawings and instructions whilst maintaining quality standards are key areas of the job.

Other requirements:

  • The ideal candidate shall be able to perform precision assembly tasks and follow instructions
  • Minimum two years’ experience in work preparation of mechanical materials, precision cleaning,precision assembly in clean room environment and bonding techniques
  • Knowledge of metallic materials for high temperatures, ceramics and standards in mechanical processing is a plus
  • Fluency in Swedish and English, both speech and writing
  • The ability to learn new processes and integrate into the team

Meritorious:

  • A working knowledge of Quality control processes
  • Experience in a production environment. Experience with vacuum brazing, welding, visual inspectionand X-ray is a plus
  • Experience in similar work in the aviation or aerospace industry is a bonus also.
