HyImpulse is a New-Space start-up based in Southern Germany. We are developing a Mini-Launcher using disruptive technologies to provide a competitive low-cost small-sat launch service for Europe and also worldwide. HyImpulse has been founded by DLR employees with excellent experience and know-how in chemical propulsion, hybrid rocket propulsion and sounding rockets. Being a part of our HyImpulse team means working in an open atmosphere, a dynamic and a professional environment as well as in a good network in the international space industry.

We are expanding now and we are searching for our site at Hardthausen and office in Munich (Germany) as of January 2019.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of a liquid oxygen turbopump
• Turbopump system analysis
• Focus on the manufacturing engineering of turbopump components
• Project planning for the development of the liquid oxygen turbopump
• Coordination with colleagues and contractual partners

Profile

• Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes for high performing components
• English, German is helpful
• Experience with cryogenic oxygen
• Experience with bearings and sealings
• Experience with project planning and administration
• Experience with CAD
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in manufacturing engineering
• (Optional) Understanding of fluid dynamics, system analysis and system design
